In the framework of the newly created European platform of exchanges PlanningMatters, perspective.brussels is launching a free series of inspiring talks and presentations on how European cities, metropolitan areas and regions implement No Net Land Take. “A journey to no net land take” will be streamed during the year 2025.
Cities, metropolitan areas, regions and all interested urban stakeholders are invited to take part in these six interactive and inspiring sessions to take place from February to June 2025.
In each episode, a guest speaker will discuss conceptual elements linked to the focus of the day or inspire participants with an interesting local practice. Presentations will be followed by interactive discussions and exchanges.
The first episode to kick start the series will take place on 26 February 2025 from 14.30 to 15.30 CET.
Featuring guest speakers Nicolas Rossignol (ESPON assistant director ‘research and policy’), this session will serve as an introduction to the concept of No Net Land Take, and deep dive into the different policy options available to achieve this European objective by 2050.
Starting from the ESPON study “No net land take trajectories: policies and practices across Europe”, we will discuss key takeaways from nine European countries and policy options for the implementation, operationalisation and appropriation of NNLT at different territorial levels.
